it may be hard to believe but a a tree can regrow from its stump. This regeneration is the kind of growth that often comes with the healing journey. In my practice, I hold the belief that nothing in life is final: we may fall or be cut down, but we can recover from our deep roots.
"Namu" (나무) meaning "tree" in Korean is a symbol from nature that embodies both external and outward growth that we can see above and the roots that we can't below. This symbol embodies my psychdynamic approach to counseling and a personal way of integrating my own cultural roots, a child of working class Korean immigrants, into my practice.
